Hyper Front, the mobile lookalike of the Pc sensation Valorant, has announced its shutdown. It is a 5v5 competitive FPS game set in a sci-fi future. With over 100k downloads, it had formed a reasonably large community which is sad to let the game go. NetEase Games, the publisher, revealed the decision to sunset Hyper Front in a recent tweet.
Why did Hyper Front shut down?
After its release last year, the game has been experiencing backlash from the gaming community because of its similarity to the famous PC game, Valorant. Although there have been no official mentions of the reasons behind its shutdown, it is alleged that lawsuits by Riot Games might have played a role. Hyper Front tried to dress up in a sci-fi FPS, but it did not fool anybody. With several powerups and gameplay possibilities, every character in the game offered something unique. These issues prevented the users from logging in and raised concerns about the privacy policy of Hyper Front. Apart from that, a general trend of the fading charm of FPS games in the mobile gaming industry has already led to the fall of many titles.
